Overview
We teamed up with the Nature Conservancy to take the FishKit project to the next level! Our mission? To make tracking the impact of the FishKit toolkit as easy as pie. By harnessing the magic of Airtable and integrating it with Looker Studio, we created a system that automates the collection and organization of key metrics, including fishery communities, training conservationists, tracked species, sustainability improvements, and more. This initiative was a game-changer for the Nature Conservancy’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) plan, paving the way for smarter decisions as they expand the toolkit’s reach.
What did we build together? A simple yet mighty Airtable database that pulls data directly from the FishKit SQL databases and allows the team to add important details that help make sense of ongoing operations. Plus, we designed dynamic infographics that transform complex data into eye-catching visuals—perfect for sharing progress with everyone involved, especially donors. With this new setup, the team can monitor their impact in one place without any hiccups, all while saving their most precious resources: time and money. Adios to countless spreadsheets!
Thanks to our friendly solution, the Nature Conservancy is now equipped to track FishKit’s success and make informed decisions that benefit the communities they serve. This project shows just how powerful a little creativity and the right tools can be in driving conservation efforts forward—making a real difference, one community at a time!
Metrics improved
At the intersection of innovation and conservation, we’re thrilled to share how smarter tracking can lead to big wins for our communities and ecosystems! Here’s a look at the impressive results we achieved.
Streamlined Species Reporting: After the process integration, we boosted species reporting from 150 to a whopping 270—no more duplication, and easier tracking.
2X Donor Engagement: Say hello to double the donor engagement! We’ve made it easier to showcase Fishkit's impact and it's showing with increased support and response from donors to the latest conservation efforts.
Increase in User Acquisition: The species database has led to a significant increase in new users, driven by their interest in region-specific specimens. This metric saw an impact of almost ~35% in for the applicable areas.
Immediate Time Savings: Who doesn’t love saving time? Post-onboarding, we cut data entry and management time by 50%. That’s half the hassle and twice the efficiency!
